I collected turquoise jewelry when I lived in New Mexico, bought sentimental pieces while traveling the world and made my first jewelry splurge on a Turkish Coin Collar Necklace when I first got out of college. I have always been drawn to unique, one-of-a-kind pieces that transport you to a time or place just by simply glancing down at them. I recently discovered Passporter, a company based in San Francisco, who shares my same passion. Passporter sources unique, one-of-a-kind, handmade accessories strait from local artisians in different countries. Each piece transporting you to a different country with different traditions, and a piece that is completely unique, authentic and of limited quantity. The items typically sell out very quickly, and a lot of the time there is only one made of each piece so that you are one of the only, if not the only, person in the world to have it. In fact, two of the clutches I had my eye on sold out before I could get my hands on them. They feature different countries every 4-6 months, sort of like a Pop-Up shop, where you can find unique pieces that won’t be offered again.
